Trinity News : April 2008
On Friday March 14th the Preparatory School boys went to the Trinity Grammar School Chapel at Summer Hill for a Palm Sunday Chapel service. For some of the younger boys particularly it was their ?rst trip on a Trinity bus, which made the morning all the more memorable. During the service the boys sang the School hymn. We listened to a Bible reading beautifully read by Rhys Halkidis (1S) and Nicholas Perera (2A). We enjoyed singing “Trotting, Trotting” a Palm Sunday hymn we’ve been rehearsing in weekly Chapel services. Mr Smith, the Preparatory School Chaplain, gave a talk about our individual importance as parts of the body of Christ. He used big cardboard boxes with pictures on to illustrate his talk. Daniel Chu (1S) and Athan Pappas (2S) read the prayers con?dently and clearly. After singing our usual Offertory hymn, each boy processed with his class to the front of the Chapel where he ‘posted’ his Chapel Day envelope in a large missionary collection box. Many boys had clearly helped even more than usual at home and earned lots of coins to go in their Chapel Day envelopes. The Trinity Singers sang, “Why do they mock you, Jesus? by Ruth Elaine Schram and “All in the April Evening” by Hugh Robertson, as the boys silently posted their Chapel Day envelopes. Palm crosses were given to the boys as they left the School Chapel. | Anni Sandwell given to the boys as they left the School Chapel. | Anni Preparatory School Chapel Day below: Mr Smith and Preparatory School Chapel Monitors 2008 (L-R) front row: Zeph McCutcheon (5R), Theodor Ewida (5H), back row: Karl Olliffe (5B), Luke Henry (5B) below: Palm Crosses were distributed to the boys as they left the Chapel Chris Chen (5H)
