44 TRINITY NEWS During the 'Sharing the Planet' unit in Year 1, the boys were able to discover how and why humans care for animals. One morning, the boys were concerned when they found a 'lost dog' wandering around outside the classroom. The class felt she looked sad and decided she may be in trouble! Eager to help, Year 1 observed the animal from the classroom and decided to care for her. They allowed the dog into the classroom and also looked for clues in the playground as to who owed the pet. After feeding the dog water, and giving her lots of pats, the boys found her collar. This had a phone number which they called to fnd the owner...Mrs Pratt! Later Mrs Pratt sat with the boys and shared some ways she cares for her pet. | Laura Wilson Pre-K began investigation of their Term 2 Unit of Inquiry, 'World of Work' with a dress-up day. Role play on this day enabled the boys to explore various occupations, and the role they play within the community.
