Trinity News : April 2013
A FULL HOUSE CHEERS TRINITY TO CAS PREMIERSHIP NUMBER FIVE The Trinity Sports Centre was packed to the rafters with over five hundred plus supporters from both schools pumped up for the biggest game in both schools history as the winner of the 2013 CAS season would be decided in the final game. The pressure in the Trinity gym was at breaking point and Knox responded early jumping out to a quick six-point lead and by the end of the first period looked in control. A composed and quietly confident Trinity came out in the second quarter and put on an inspiring performance cutting a swathe through the Knox defence with Dominic Gilbert (12Ta) and Jaden Weldon (11Ta) proving unstoppable at both ends making big play after big play. Two huge steals from big man Nick Feng (12WH) to close out the first half sent the Trinity students and supporters into a frenzy as the ‘Bottle Greens’ went on a tear giving the Firsts at the main break an unbelievable 15 point lead. A fired up Trinity continued its dominance when returning to the floor and for the first time this season all the pistons were firing together, playing outstanding basketball at both ends, completely dominating their opposite numbers. A huge ‘3’ from reliable Peter Gullotta (12Yo) broke Knox’s back and Trinity were ready to celebrate as they extended their lead going into the final period.
