Trinity News : April 2011
TRINITYARTSFESTIVAL 2011 Welcome to the 15th annual Trinity Arts Festival - a celebration of our School, our arts and our achievements. Trinity Grammar School proudly offers every boy the opportunity to explore his God-given talents, to develop his skills, free his imagination and to create in a way that stirs our minds, our bodies and our spirits. This unique Festival showcases Trinity students’ work ranging from music and dance, visual arts, drama, theatre crafts, film and television through to radio and music production. Each work is different, challenging engaging and uplifting. Highlights include the Drama Production commencing on May 25. ‘Wilde Tales’ takes us on a dynamic journey that is painful, poetic and witty through some of Oscar Wilde’s most loved short stories; the International Student Film Festival on May 19; the stylistically pure Symphonic Sound Bytes at the City Recital Hall Angel Place on June 10; the Primary Years Festival focus on August 12 and the ever popular ‘Best of Art’ Exhibition on September 8. At Trinity we believe the creative arts enrich our lives, making us better, broader and more rounded people both as creators and as the audience. So join with us at some of the Trinity Arts Festival events. Put the dates aside now. Engage with the boys and their works as they soar and confront, thrill and enchant us! | Kell Daniels 2011 PROGRAMME DRAMA 19-MAY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL EDT 7:30PM 25 - 28 MAY SENIOR SCHOOL DRAMA PRODUCTION EDT 7:30PM 29-JUL LEAPING LOONIES' PHYSICAL THEATRE CC 1:10PM MUSIC 1-JUN HEAD MASTER'S ASSEMBLY - FESTIVAL LAUNCH JWHAH 8:30AM-9:15AM 1-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 1-JUN ORGANISTS & ACADEMY OF MUSIC ENSEMBLES CONCERT CHAPEL 7:00PM 2-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 3-JUN KINDY PROMS ANNUAL CONCERT JWHAH 11:00AM-12:00PM 3-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 3-JUN SOLOISTS' COMPETITION FINALS OR 7:00PM 5-JUN ARCHER, LATHAM AND WILSON HOGG HOUSE SERVICE JWHAH 6:30PM 6-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 7-JUN BATTLE OF THE BANDS JWHAH 7:00PM 7-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 8-JUN LUNCHTIME CONCERT CC 1:10PM-1:50PM 10-JUN GALA CONCERT - THE PREMIER CONCERT OF THE YEAR CITY RECITAL HALL 7:00PM 12-SEP BIG BAND NIGHT OF JAZZ OR 7:00PM VISUAL ARTS 19-MAY YEAR 7 VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOPS SH CAMPUS ALL DAY 26-MAY YEAR 8 VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOPS SH CAMPUS ALL DAY 25-AUG HSC & IB VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION OPENING DG 7:00PM 26 - 29 AUG HSC & IB VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION DG 12:00PM-5:00PM 8-SEP 'BEST OF ART' EXHIBITION OPENING DG 7:00PM 9-12 SEP 'BEST OF ART' EXHIBITION DG 12:00PM-5:00PM CREATIVE WRITING 2-JUN GARY CATALANO - FIRESIDE READINGS DH 7:00PM PRIMARY ARTS FESTIVAL VISUAL ARTS 12-AUG COMBINED JUNIOR & PREP SCHOOLS ART EXHIBITION OPENING DG & CAF 5:15PM-7:00PM 12-16 AUG COMBINED JUNIOR & PREPARATORY SCHOOLS ART EXHIBITION DG & CAF 12:00PM-5:00PM MUSIC 15-JUN OZ OPERA - SID THE SERPANT WHO WANTED TO SING!
