Trinity News : November 2008
ALUMNI WORLD LIFESAVING REPRESENTATIVES Christopher Allum (School Vice-Captain 2003/Prefect 2004) recently represented Australia with distinction at the World Lifesaving Championships in Germany. The Australian team successfully defended the National Teams Trophy. Chris also won the World Surf Race Championship to cap of a wonderful season in which he also won the Australian and NSW Surf Race Championships. Chris also finished third in the World Ironman Championship event. Brother Hayden Allum (School Vice-Captain 2006) represented his Club at the World Titles and finished 4th in both the World Ironman and Board Race Championships – a great result. As an aside Hayden represented Australia in Surf Life Saving in an U/23 team in December 2007. Outside of sport – Chris is now in his final term at Sydney University studying Primary Education and is thinking a lot about his career and work commencing next year. Hayden is in his second year doing a similar course at the University of Notre Dame and is enjoying himself and comfortably passing. It seems to be an excellent course. I am biased but I think that they are growing up well. In no small part Patricia and I give a lot of the credit to the very positive influences they had at Trinity Grammar School. So thanks to all the teachers whom the boys had the privilege of getting to know.
