DAVID SABBEN (‘62) | MEDAL OF GALLANTRY We are pleased and proud to announce that David Sabben has been awarded the Medal of Gallantry. David entered Trinity in 1958 and left in 1962. He was a Second Lieutenant, commanding 12 Platoon D Company 6RAR at the Battle of Long Tan in Vietnam on the 18th August 1966. This was a Battle in which 6th Battalion comprising 105 Australians and three New Zealanders took on the might of over 2,000 Regular Vietnamese Army near the base of Nu Dat. The Battalion lost 18 men and 24 were wounded. He had previously received a Mention in Despatches.
